About Dr. Shinika McKiever
Dr. Shinika McKiever is the founder and Chief Creative Officer of The McKiever Group Creative Company, a consulting firm dedicated to fostering culturally inclusive leadership and empowering diverse communities. With over 15 years of experience across philanthropy, nonprofit management, and business sectors, Dr. McKiever specializes in developing creative, purpose-driven solutions that address the unique challenges faced by women and people of color.
Dr. McKiever holds a doctorate in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T State University, where her research focused on adaptive leadership among women entrepreneurs, particularly Black women. Her academic expertise, combined with practical experience, fuels her innovative approach to leadership and organizational development. Through The McKiever Group, she helps leaders and organizations embrace authenticity, cultivate their natural talents, and achieve their full potential.
A passionate advocate for her community, Dr. McKiever is the founder of the Brown Girl Collective of the Triad and serves on multiple nonprofit boards. She is a recognized leader, having earned accolades such as the Triad Business Journal’s 40 Leaders Under 40 award. Dr. McKiever’s guiding philosophy is simple: lead with authenticity, embrace your unique identity, and use your talents to create lasting change.
